Skyline POS Privacy Policy

Skyline POS (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops point-of-sale software and related services for restaurants and retail merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when merchants use Skyline POS applications, portals, integrations, or support channels (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

a. Merchant & Account Data

  • Business name, address, tax identifiers, contact details
  • Owner and staff user profiles (name, email, phone, role)
  • Subscription, billing, and payment records

b. Point-of-Sale Activity

  • Transaction details (items sold, prices, discounts, taxes)
  • Order management data (delivery/pickup preferences, ticket notes)
  • Inventory and catalog data (items, modifiers, pricing, availability)

c. Delivery-Marketplace Integrations

  • Credentials and tokens required to connect with third-party marketplaces (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub)
  • Order payloads, status updates, and fulfillment events retrieved from or posted to those marketplaces

d. Device & Usage Data

  • IP address, device identifiers, browser and OS details
  • Log files describing access, errors, API calls, and feature usage
  • Support communications (tickets, chat transcripts, call recordings)

e. Optional Data

  • Customer loyalty or marketing lists imported by the merchant
  • Custom fields or notes the merchant stores in Skyline POS

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from end consumers; any consumer data appearing in orders or tickets is provided by the merchant or marketplace partner.

2. How We Use Information

We process the information above to:

  • Provide, configure, and maintain the Skyline POS platform
  • Authenticate users and secure access to merchant accounts
  • Sync orders, menus, and status updates with approved marketplaces and delivery partners
  • Generate receipts, settlement reports, analytics, and inventory summaries
  • Deliver technical support, training, and product communications
  • Improve and develop new features, integrations, and security controls
  • Comply with contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations

3. Sharing & Disclosure

We share information only with:

  • Marketplace and integration partners chosen by the merchant to enable order ingest, menu synchronization, or delivery-status updates
  • Payment processors and financial institutions to settle transactions and manage subscription billing
  • Service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support) under confidentiality agreements
  • Authorities or legal counsel when required to fulfill legal obligations or enforce our agreements
  • Corporate affiliates or successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer

We do not sell merchant or consumer data.

4. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, network segmentation, access controls, and regular security audits. Despite our efforts, no system is completely secure, and merchants must protect access credentials, enforce user permissions, and observe best practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as a merchant account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal, tax, or contractual obligations. Merchants may request deletion of specific data where retention is not required.

6. Merchant Choices & Rights

Merchants can:

  • Review and update business or user information within Skyline POS
  • Configure marketplace integrations, tokens, and webhook endpoints
  • Export transaction and order data through built-in reporting tools
  • Request corrections, deletion, or restriction of processing by contacting us (subject to legal limitations)

7. International Transfers

Skyline POS may process and store data in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. We implement appropriate safeguards when transferring data across borders.

8. Third-Party Services

Our Services may link to third-party sites or APIs. Those providers operate under their own privacy policies. Merchants should review the policies of each marketplace, payment processor, or integration they enable.

9. Children’s Privacy

Skyline POS does not target or knowingly collect information from individuals under 13 years of age. Any consumer data present in the system should be limited to what the merchant is lawfully permitted to record for business operations.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or business practices. We will post the revised policy on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
